An organic garden is a great way to eat healthier and get in touch with the planet and it’s as easy as pie
1.Get Green Soil and Plants: Research with your local nursery to find out what plants they sell that haven’t been treated with any pesticides. Some soils are specifically marked as ‘organic’ so seek those out when you’re planting.
2.Collect Rainwater: Invest in a medium-sized rain collector to keep fresh water coming in – it’s cleaner that tap water that has added chemicals and it’s also cheaper in the long run, too!
3.Start Composting: Composting is double duty! If you get rid of your compostable trash this way you’re doing Mother Nature a service and you’re also ensuring that your garden is healthier and more vibrant as composted soil is the best nutrient rich product you can find. It’s cheaper, too!

Organic refers to the method used by farmers to grow and process agricultural produce such as fruits, vegetables and meat. Organic foods are grown in soil that has been free of chemicals and pesticides for 7-10 years, and the growers have used only natural fertilizers such as compost and manure.
Your produce, fruits, vegetables, grains etc is only as nutritious as the ground they came from. Natural fertilizers tend to build up the soil by restoring minerals and encouraging natural biological mechanisms in the soil that promote the synthesis of nutrients which are later absorbed by the plants grown in it. For this reason organic plant foods have much higher nutritional values than their non-organic counterparts which are grown in chemically treated soil and hence have absorbed these chemicals in them as well. Organic food is said to contain between 20 to 50 more vitamins, nutrients and minerals than non-organic foods.
Organic meat is from animals fed only natural fodder. Organic meat has three to five times of conjugated linoleic acid which has been shown to reduce the risk of cancer. It is also proven to contain more omega-3 fats and has a better overall mineral and nutrient content. One study has proven that grass fed beef had as much as four times the vitamin E of non-organic beef.

When you’re faced with a choice between traditional food and food labeled as “organic”, making the decision can seem impossible. The two foods may look and feel the same, but there are drastic differences in the methods used to grow and prepare both foods for consumption. For example, farmers who grow fruits and vegetables traditionally often use fertilizers made from harsh chemicals to make the plants grow more quickly, thus creating more produce in a shorter amount of time. Traditional produce also typically contains traces of potentially harmful, chemically-based insecticides. Farmers who choose to grow their produce organically, however, use natural fertilizers such as manure to grow their plants, and employ natural methods of keeping insects at bay, such as mating disruption. Farmers who produce animal products using traditional methods feed their animals man-made grain feed, and inject growth hormones and antibiotics into their animals that cause them to grow faster without contracting diseases. These antibiotics and hormones in traditional meat and dairy can destroy healthy bacteria and cause hormonal changes in our own bodies. Farmers who produce organic animal products feed their animals a balanced diet and allow them to graze outdoors, which enables natural growth and disease prevention.

There has been a rise in consumption of organic foods in recent years, and with good reason.
The foods we eat contain pesticides, hormones and antibiotics, which are all known to pose health risks.
Some medical research has concluded that pesticides and other chemicals may cause cancer. Studies have also indicated that they may be linked to Alzheimer-s and birth defects.
Organic farming is designed to help the environment because organic farmers tend to use less water and they practice crop rotation, which keeps the soil from being depleted of nutrients. Also, without the use of pesticides, there are less pollutants being added to the soil.
To be certified organic, farmers must raise their crops without chemicals. Ranchers must also follow strict guidelines for the production of their meat and dairy products, including the absence of growth hormones and antibiotics.
There is a misconception that organic foods are going to taste strange. Studies have suggested that without pesticides, fruits and vegetables taste better because chemicals may remove flavors, leaving the foods bland.
In the past, organic foods were more expensive. This problem is decreasing as the demand rises and more organic foods are being produced. They are even available at some discount supermarkets.

Organic farming is a favorite pastime; it is one of humanity’s oldest hobbies, and a necessary one at that. Now, in the 21st century, the ancient knowledge of connecting with the earth and growing healthy foods while keeping our planet-s natural cycles clean and free of artifice is resurfacing to the top of our world-s emergent priorities. If we are ever to strive to maintain a balanced lifestyle, of course we need balanced and healthful bodies, and the condition of our bodies is a truthful reflection of the hale and hearty hills of our environment. Naturally, a well orchestrated organic garden will flourish with its surroundings and create a physical song of vitality, attracting all kinds of life to be a part of the cycle without having to worry about artificial stimulators or pesticides, simply because they are not needed in a flourishing garden. A constantly regenerating atmosphere is the real key to health as it continues to grow and shun out disease and woe, and with constant attention the orchard will continue to grow and produce beneficial habits and respects for our only planet. Our world is our body and our bodies are our environment, nurture them and live happy.
